Wednesday learn to meditate


THIS SERIES OF FOUR CLASSES IS A PERFECT OPPORTUNITY to learn the basic practices of meditation and its many benefits.

Meditation helps reduce stress, improving health, happiness, concentration and work productivity, thus increasing our life satisfaction.

Each class includes 2 guided meditations, and instructions that can easily be integrated into daily life.

Classes are offered in either three or four week series.

Christine

Christine Reeves is a Kadampa Buddhist meditation teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada. She has been a Kadampa Buddhist and student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years. She studies on the Teacher Training Program and teaches the Wednesday night weekly class ‘Learn to Meditate’ at the Temple. Her experience of integrating meditation into her daily life, makes her a practical and sincere teacher.

 

AnneGruelsmall

Anne Gruel started attending the Centre regularly with her daughter in the last few years. She currently studies in the Foundation Program and helps teach Dharma to both children and adults at the temple. Her experience as an ESL teacher and a mom inspires her to make learning simple, practical, and enjoyable.

Do I have to be a Buddhist to benefit from meditation?

No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind. Buddhists respect all people and are happy to help anyone regardless of whether they subscribe to another faith, or to none.

Do I need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend the classes?

No. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.

What do I need to bring to class?

Nothing in particular, however if you wish to take notes bring a pen and notepad.

How should I dress for class?

No particular clothing is required.
